The Sixties were a time of great social change, which was reflected in the music of the era. Folk rock, garage rock, psychedelia and protest songs ruled the day. The Bad Seeds, a group of lads from Northern Kentucky who became Columbia Records recording artists, were in the middle of it all.
But over time, except for a few vinyl records in dusty bins, the Bad Seeds music became relegated to the past. Their stories were lost or shrouded in mystery.
Now, for the first time in 50 years, you can rediscover the music and stories of the Bad Seeds.
John Reynolds and Jerry Foster were principal songwriters for the band. John was a vocalist and bass player. He penned their most well known song “King of the Soap Box”, a satirical commentary on politicians and preachers, which is still relevant today. These days, he is still in love with music as ever, and has branched out into building, repairing, and restoring guitars and amplifiers as well as collecting vintage guitars.
Via the modern technology of the internet and digital distribution, John is thrilled to be able to make his music available to you once again.
